About Us
Pat Simonetti opened his first car wash at 84-06 Queens Blvd, in Elmhurst, NY, in 1965. By 1970, he began installing and repairing tires and had grown the business into a full-service Firestone service center. Throughout the 70’s and 80’s he brought his two sons in law into the business, where they established Queens Tire Pros as a successful tire and auto repair business that remained in that location for another 20 years.
In 2001, Pat’s son in law, Larry Vollano, moved the business to Northern Boulevard in Long Island City. The new location provided additional space to repair vehicles, store tires and service fleet vehicles. The MIC Tire Pros location later expanded in 2017, adding a second location in Astoria.
Meanwhile, just south of the original Queens Firestone location on Queens Boulevard, Tom and Linda Wolfe partnered with Goodyear in 1974 to become the go-to Goodyear location in Queens, NY. Becoming more well known for their diagnostics work, they removed the gas pumps in 1979 to focus solely on diagnostic auto repair. Over the next 40 years, Pace Tire became known as the place to go if you needed to fix a problem with your vehicle that no one else in the area could fix, while still retaining a strong sense of neighborhood and family.
In 2019, Tom decided to take his much-earned retirement. He sold the business he called home to his good friend Larry, whom he had known for over 30 years. Now Larry’s son Lawrence manages the day to day business at the new and improved Pace Tire Pros.
Today, Pace Tire Pros offers the best auto repair and tire service to Middle Village, NY and the greater Queens area. We employ ASE certified technicians, who have access to the latest tools, equipment and diagnostic software in the industry. Many of our techs have been with Pace for over 20 years! We are a proud Napa Auto Care affiliated location, in addition to being part of the Tire Pros franchise and Goodyear Tire and Service network.
